[KAIPBA] 2016 Korea Roadshow Report

Dear KAIPBA members:

I am glad to report that the twelve delegates from the KAIPBA finished a successful trip to Korea during October 18-20 and 22, 2016. Further to the 1st KAIPBA Roadshow in 2014, this was the second delegation trip to Korea by the KAIPBA. The delegates visited to meet the leadership of and made presentations for the Korea Intellectual Property Office (October 18, 2016), Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency (October 19, 2016), and Korea Patent Attorney Association (October 20, 2016).

Presentations by the KAIPBA delegates cover a wide range of topics including, among others, updates on the recent patent eligible subject matter decisions and the USPTO's examination guidance, and overall US patent dispute issues at various venues including USPTO PTAB, ITC, and U.S. Supreme Court. On October 22, 2016, the KAIPBA delegates visited to meet the professors at the DanKook University, IP Education Center and gave lectures to students at IP Education Center. (The KAIPBA leadership signed a MOU with the DanKook University, IP Education Center on December 17, 2015.)
